About the artist

John F. Copenhaver's earliest memories always included a box of crayons and fresh sheet of white paper. john studied at the university of cincinnati college of design, architecture, art and planning under the late renowned artist Robert fabe. john's area of study was Ceramics, but he has always had a creative burn for painting and drawing.

john taught art at several cincinnati public schools and in his current position as a school administrator is enjoying the best of both worlds by continuing to serve the students the he loves while at the same time create his art.

John's work usually focuses on the human condition and the relationships that people experience everyday. His realistic and abstract renderings focus on the juxtaposition of color and movement. Unity is achieved when all elements come together to draw the viewer into very personal moments in the subjects lives.

John has shown his work in several one man and collaborative shows. his work has been commissioned by several private collectors and institutions.
